How to Play MCUdle
MCUdle is a daily Marvel Cinematic Universe guessing game. Each day a hidden character is chosen, and the grid tells you how close each guess is. The rules are short, and the game rewards knowing the roster — the films, the teams, and the way powers work.
Shared rules
Once per day the game picks a hidden character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That character stays the same for every player for the entire day — the puzzle resets at midnight UTC. You have unlimited guesses, but every guess reveals more information, so a careful player solves in fewer tries. There is no time limit and no countdown during play.
Submit a guess by typing a character's name into the search bar and picking them from the autocomplete list. Repeating a character by accident is silently ignored and never counts against you. Once you find the answer the game locks for the day — come back at the next reset.
MCUdle needs no account. Your guesses, completion state and streak are stored in your browser's local storage — nothing is sent to a server. Switch browsers or clear your data and you start fresh, because the data only ever lived on your device.
The modes
Classic Mode
The comparison-grid mode. Type any character and the game shows their row across the attribute columns — gender, species, affiliation, origin, status, debut phase and debut year. Each cell is colored by how it compares to the hidden character: green is an exact match, yellow is a partial match, and red is a miss. The numeric columns (phase and debut year) add an arrow telling you whether the answer is higher or lower than your guess. Keep guessing; the grid narrows the field every row until you find the character.
Streaks & sharing
Win each day to grow your streak — every mode keeps its own. Miss a day and a banked Streak Freeze ❄️ is spent automatically to keep the streak alive; you start with one, earn another at every 5-day milestone, and can hold up to two. Run out and a missed day resets that streak to zero. MCUdle rewards consistency rather than speed. After a win you can copy a spoiler-free emoji grid of your solve to share with friends.
